7th Annual Poker Invitational

On Sunday, June 6, 90 Texas Hold ‘em enthusiasts showed their support for The Saban Free Clinic at the 7th Annual Poker Invitational. For the first time ever, the tournament was held at Commerce Casino, the largest card casino in the world. A big thank you to the gracious and accommodating hosts, Commerce Casino, who helped ensure the tournament was a flawless event.  Guests dined on and enjoyed a delectable spread provided by Commerce Casino and delicious hot dogs provided by Pink’s Hot Dogs.   

As soon as the words “shuffle up and deal!” were spoken, the tournament was off to a feverish start.  Play continued well into the evening with this year’s talented group of participants. Congratulations to the first place finisher, Jim Puerner; second place finisher, David Bickel and third place finisher, Ian Woolf! 

The tournament was a great success, grossing over $100,000.  It would not have been possible without the help and generosity of the following sponsors: Commerce Casino, Bob Broder, City National Bank, Hillary Bibicoff, Greenberg Glusker and Bruce Stern.
